Who Is Behind This Website?
SpectrumOutages.com is built and run by Omar Farooq, an independent web publisher. There is no company behind it and no investors. It is one person who wanted a faster way to tell a real outage apart from a problem inside one house.
If something on this site looks wrong, or a report does not match what you are seeing, write to us on the contact page. The same person who built the site reads those messages.
What We Do
We collect outage reports from Spectrum customers across the United States and show them in one place, as they come in. You can check your city, enter your ZIP code, use the live map, or let the site find reports near you.
Every tool is free, nothing needs an account, and you do not have to give your name to submit a report. Reporting takes about 15 seconds. Your report shows on the site within a minute, so the next person from your area can see it.
Where Does Our Data Come From?
Every report on this site comes from a visitor who is having trouble with Spectrum. That is the only source. We do not receive any data from Spectrum, and we cannot see inside their systems.
Reports are not verified. We cannot confirm that someone is a Spectrum customer or that they entered the right location.
What makes the data useful is volume. When several people report from the same area in a short time, that is a strong sign of a real outage. This also means a quiet page is not proof that everything is working. Most people never report a problem at all.
Our Mission?
To give Spectrum customers a straight answer about their service, without guesswork and without hype. We would rather tell you what our data cannot prove than overstate what it shows.
If the page says there is no outage, it means nobody has reported one, not that nothing is wrong.
